Robert C Daum is a private investor and former investment banker in New York and London. His career in banking spanned more than 20 years in corporate finance and capital markets, beginning with Dillon Read in 1978, and ending as a managing director with UBS. He originated and executed numerous debt and equity transactions, as well as extensive merger and financial advisory assignments. He has also served as chief financial officer of a NASDAQ listed internet services company.

He has been a Lloyd’s name since 1986 and currently writes through a Nameco. He was a founding investor in the Lloyd’s vehicle Insurance Capital Partners and serves on its Advisory Board. Mr Daum sits on the Boards of several prominent US based not-for-profit organizations including a multi-billion dollar health care provider and insurance entity, the largest of its kind in the United States. He has Board level oversight responsibility for three endowments and pension funds with assets well in excess of $1 billion. He is also on the Executive Committee of the US affiliate of the National Trust. He holds an undergraduate degree in history from Colgate University and an MBA from Harvard. Mr Daum resides in Florida.  He joined the committee of the HPG in December.
