Private Capital Representative, Lloyd’s Council

Jeffery was a Partner with Norton Rose Fulbright for many years and held a number of senior management positions including Chairman of the firm’s Partnership Council (Board). He set up and ran the firm’s Project Finance department for many years and was also Head of the Banking Departments for six years.

He has been heavily involved in promoting the City’s interests with TheCityUK, the Supervisory Board of UKTI’s High Value Opportunities Programme chaired by Sir Michael Bear, and he sat  on the London Council of the Confederation of British Industry for six years, as well as currently sitting on its International Advisory Board.

He became a member of Lloyd’s in 1987 and both he and his wife now underwrite at Lloyd’s via a Nameco.

Jeffery was appointed to the ALM Board in May 2016 , elected to the Lloyd’s Council in December 2016 and re-elected to the newly constituted Council which commenced on 1 June 2020. He was  heavily involved in Private Capital’s response on the Prospectus and the revised Governance proposals, chairing and coordinating the Members Agents’ committee and the Working sub-group set up under that Committee. He continues to chair that Committee and Working  sub-group and has coordinated responses to Lloyd’s  on behalf of Private Capital on a number of issues including those  relating to the Irish and Luxembourg Funds, the funding of FAL via Letters of Credit and the Coming Into Line exercises for June and August 2020.
