Belinda is a non-executive director of Ed Broking, Chair of the CII Disciplinary Decision Review Panel and has recently been appointed as an External Member of the Lloyd’s Enforcement Panel. In 2016 she retired as a leading lawyer and partner in CMS international law firm with 30 years’ experience in insurance.

As an insurance lawyer, she acted in a number of high profile insurance cases, including the LMX spiral litigation that resulted in R & R; the Enron US class action; and Buncefield. Belinda’s regulatory experience involved acting for professionals in investigations and disciplinary proceedings by regulators and professional bodies, including such actions brought by Lloyd’s. All this has given Belinda considerable exposure to leading figures in and the workings of the Lloyd’s market; she has experience of balancing conflicting interests to steer through agreed strategic approaches to achieve the best solutions for clients. She was named Euromoney Women in Business Law-Best in Insurance in 2014 and was ranked as Band 1 by leading Legal directories.

As a business leader  Belinda was responsible for managing successful and profitable teams and has held positions on her firm’s board and remuneration committees. Her last management project for the firm was as head of the Bristol insurance team, turning its performance around and reinstating it to a top ranked team under her leadership.

And when she is not in EC3, she is a farmer’s wife near Newmarket!
