Jon Hancock to be Lloyd’s Director of Performance Management
Lloyd’s has announced that Jon Hancock, Managing Director UK Commercial and Global Broker Relationship Director for RSA, will become the new Director, Performance Management, on 1 December 2016. This is the role formerly undertaken by Tom Bolt (who left at the end of May to rejoin Berkshire Hathaway), and currently filled on an interim basis by Theresa Froehlich.
Jon Hancock has spent his entire career in insurance, starting as a broker before moving to RSA as a marine underwriter in Liverpool, and then holding a number of senior positions, with a particular emphasis on underwriting, in the UK, Asia and the Middle East.
There is no doubt that Jon Hancock takes on the role at a challenging time, with, for example, market conditions continuing to be tough in most classes, the growth of broker facilities, and the fact that Chairman John Nelson is due to retire next year. Jon Hancock said: “This is a truly exciting time to be joining Lloyd’s, a time of rapid change where we and our industry are facing into some key challenges and some different opportunities”.
